Global Advantage Business Awards Nominees

Cargill's Logo

Nominated for: Immigrant Inclusion in the Workplace Award

Cargill operates one of Canada’s largest cattle processing plants in Guelph. There they employ over 900 workers, many of whom are immigrants. Cargill has been named one of Canada’s Best Diversity Recruiters in 2016, an award that recognizes employers across Canada that have exceptional workplace diversity and inclusiveness programs.

Hiring immigrants has benefited Cargill in many ways. The chronic shortage of workers in skilled meat cutters in Canada is an issue faced by all processing plants and hiring immigrants has allowed Cargill to increase their available talent pool for recruiting new employees and provides them with a competitive advantage in retaining top talent.

Congratulations Cargill for making Guelph-Wellington a more inclusive place for immigrants!
